Meet the Team: Danielle Finlay

I meet administrator Danielle for another interview with the Professionals team as we take a deep dive behind the scenes of the less public side of proceedings.

How would you describe what you do here?

I’m reception as well as administration. I support all of the property managers and sales agents. It’s mostly administration work.

How long have you been working for Professionals?

Since April of this year… about 7 to 8 months.

Do you have any prior experience in real estate before working here?

Not professionally, no. But personally, I have property outside of work, so that’s obviously something that interests me on a personal level. So now to see the behind-the-scenes of it all is quite fascinating.

Do you have any aspirations on getting further into the business yourself?

Probably not on the sales side. I’m not very good with marketing and whatnot. Property management is the avenue I’m leaning towards.

How would you describe being a part of this team?

It’s great! I have no dramas. Everyone’s pretty easy-going, a good team which is what I like.

Are you local to the Tamborine area? What do you think about it?

Yes, I live just seven minutes away from the office. I go up the mountain a fair bit. I try not to go on weekends as it’s a bit touristy for me. It’s got great cafes. I used to work up on the mountain, so I spent a fair bit of time up there. But down in this area it’s quieter, the small-town community feel. Everybody looks out for each other.

Is there anything you particularly enjoy most about your job?

I like the contract process, that’s very fulfilling. To see the completion of what you’ve started.

It’s not my property but as I work the sales process from listing it all, seeing the property look really pretty online, seeing the final outcome from completing the contract, through the conditions and then to settlement. Ticking things off, it’s like crossing off a to-do list. It’s rewarding.

What do you believe makes Professionals stand out from other realtors?

That’s a bit complicated to answer—there’s a really good team here, especially property management. I’ve never sold a property of my own, but I’ve bought property. We had a lot of trouble renting out with our property managers in Darwin. But here, Monique is very efficient, and it’s really good to see the process and see landlords and tenants very happy. Better than the experiences that I’ve had as a landlord and a tenant. Working with that calibre of property manager  is good.

Professionals have a great brand, good marketing, fantastic market presence and are a fun, hardworking team.
