Location: 37 Cliff Way, Tamborine Mountain
It’s been shown time and time again that Tamborine Mountain is a spiritual place, one that’s healthy for the soul as well as the body and mind. It’s also no secret that there’s no shortage of people ready to offer their own take on that healing, like Oreion from Blissage Day Spa, who’s here today to talk about the interesting services she offers – by Kyle Hitchmough
How long have you owned Blissage Day Spa?
I’ve been here for six years in this business, and twenty years on the mountain. I used to work at Getaway Day Spa.
For those who might not be familiar, what is it you do here?
We offer lots of different healing treatments. We have a serenity package, which has some light reiki healing and salt glow in it, and a facial massage… They’re all different, but a lot of our treatments have healing. We do sound therapy with crystal bowls, we do shamanic healing, it’s very different to everybody else and what they do. We do a lot of facials, and private high teas as well.
You also offer a mobile option to your services, correct?
We do everything mobile as well. Mainly massage and beauty treatments. We do couples, singles and even big groups, where we can go to people’s hotels. They’ll call us and we’ll send our therapists to massage the whole group.
And you sell your own products?
Yes, I have my own product range called Alpha and Omega. It’s an anti-aging range, and I put crystals in them as well so they’re energetic products as well. I only use my own product range, and I sell it as well. You can order them from my Fresha account, under Products on my website.
You also sell a Tera Hertz Therapy Device on your website. Can you tell us more about that?
We also use the Tera Hertz machines on our clients if they like, and we sell them as well. It penetrates through the skin 30cm through the body and restores all your cells. It rejuvenates and heals them. It works well with arthritis and joint pain. It’s terahertz with blue light. Those normally go for $400 but we have them on special for $299 until Christmas.
What is the most popular service you offer?
I’ve got a signature awakening package that’s really popular. It’s more of a healing treatment, so you get a back massage with salt glow, and then we channel light codes into the spine through the system. It goes for about an hour of healing. It’s different for everybody, we tune in to what the person needs and give them what they need. All our therapists are healers as well with over 20 years’ experience.
As a local, what’s your opinion on the Tamborine Mountain area and community?
I’ve been living here for 22 years. It’s beautiful, I love it up here. All the people are beautiful. I still support Getaway Day Spa as well, we go there once a week or once a fortnight, and we support each other. I think that’s really important that everybody on the mountain support each other’s businesses. I send people everywhere and I’m constantly focused on helping everybody. I think that’s my true abundance.
Do you have any personal favourite places to go or things to do on the mountain?
I love the knoll, I love the waterfalls up here, like Cedar Creek Falls where I like to go for a swim. I love all the restaurants up here. I’m really looking forward to The Jazz Station opening up, we’re going to that and hopefully it’ll be incredible! I’ve booked a table for 30 people. I used to have a restaurant up here, Mama Afra, until COVID happened. I had another day spa that I closed, too.
What do you think Blissage Day Spa really provides to the area?
A healing sanctuary, really. We have 30 minutes between each client, so we don’t rush them off. We serve herbal tea afterwards and they can sit there and enjoy the view. That’s why we get 5-star reviews all the time, we have around 250-300 reviews and they’re all 5-star. We give 110%, and all my therapists are incredible and loving. It’s just different.
What do you enjoy most about doing this?
Everything! It doesn’t even feel like working, really. We all get along great. Most of my therapists have been working for me for at least 3 years. I don’t allow anybody to work here who does anything negative, I just remove them, so it stays balanced all the time. All my therapists are locals, and they all get along really good. We all support each other.
